Man Whose Smell Caused A Flight Diversion Dies From Rotting Flesh

A man who smelled so bad his flight was forced to make an emergency landing is dead from tissue necrosis.

The Russian rock musician was flying last month from the Canary Islands to the Netherlands. Passengers on the Transavia flight reportedly started vomiting and fainting from the smell, so the crew forced the man into the bathroom until the plane could make an emergency landing in Portugal.

It turns out he wasn't unwashed or dirty, he had picked up an infection in the Canary Islands that caused his flesh to rot and decay. He had reportedly sought help in the Canary Islands but a doctor told him it was some sort of "ordinary beach infection." He died on Monday.
