That didn’t take long.
Two movies about the dramatic rescue of a boys soccer team from a flooded cave in Thailand are now in the works. Director John Chu announced yesterday he'll direct a film in association with Los Angeles-based Ivanhoe Pictures. The film company says Thailand's navy and government are cooperating in the production. He also noted, casting with be ethnically appropriate.
Yesterday's announcement comes one day after Pure Flix Entertainment announced it's working on its own film. The 12 boys and their young coach were trapped for more than two weeks after heavy rains flooded the cave they were exploring in northern Thailand. Divers brought them out safely over three days earlier this week.
