As impressive as Tiger Woods’ 5-under par finish to tie him for third at yesterday’s Open Championship, it wasn’t even the most impressive 5-under par finish.
That would belong to England’s Eddie Pepperell who shot a 4-under 67 that actually left him 1 shot off the lead at The Open when he walked off the course.
Well, staggered off the course.
Because all those shots Pepperell shaved off his score he actually made up for the night with well, other shots, as Pepperell later admitted he was a "little hungover'' during that final round.
And that would be because of the previous day when Pepperell shot a 71 on Saturday and was "so frustrated" that he had "too much to drink [that] night."
Maybe he should have drank Friday night too as he started the final round 8 strokes off the lead and—walked into the clubhouse after his round just one stroke off of it.
Hey, that kind of play calls for a drink.
Well, another that is.
