By now you know how Tiger Woods struggling on just two holes yesterday cost him the lead and eventually the Claret Jug at the Open Championship.
But reigning champion Jordan Spieth who entered Sunday’s final round at Carnoustie tied for the lead at nine under par lost a whole lot more.
Spieth was five over par in the final round leaving him finished tied for ninth but every time he lost a stroke, it seemed his accountant had one.
That’s because when Spieth began the day in the lead—he was in line for the $1.87-million prize—but 76 strokes later and his check ended up being around $215,000.
Wow—and despite his horrible scorecard, it wasn’t nearly as horrible as the $1.6-million-dollar swing in his bank account.
