The “Roseanne” spinoff will be part of ABC’s Tuesday comedy block this fall.
“The Conners” will debut on October 16 along with fellow rookie shows “The Kids Are Alright” and “The Rookie” as well as returning shows “black-ish” and “Splitting Up Together.”
ABC ordered 20 episodes and they’ll star John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman in their well known roles. The plot, according to a release, will center around a sudden turn of events for the working class family as they struggle with everyday challenges.
As we’ve mentioned before, “Roseanne” was canceled after a huge return because of a racist tweet by Roseanne Barr. She will be a guest on Sean Hannity’s TV show Thursday. The “Roseanne” reboot happened in large part due to the efforts of Sara Gilbert, who is also behind “The Conners.”
