Six Dancers In Broadway Show About Matchmaking Get Engaged

Being in a Broadway show about matchmaking has paid off for some company members, six dancers in the hit musical have gotten engaged in its year-and-a-half run. “Hello Dolly” is about a widowed woman who helps couples find love while looking for love herself and it’s brought luck to these women in love.

A few months after the show opened in 2017, dancer Taeler Cyrus was the first to get engaged. A month later, Sarah Meahl’s boyfriend popped the question, followed by Leslie Flesner, and then Elizabeth Early. The fifth dancer to say yes was Jessica Lee Goldyn, who actually joined the cast while she as single. And finally, Amanda LaMotte’s boyfriend proposed, bringing the total to six dancers in the show all getting engaged while working on this musical.

"It's honestly the craziest thing," bride-to-be Flesner says. "It would be one thing if we were doing "Les Miserables" — this sad musical — and everyone was getting engaged. There seems to be a lot of parallels between the stories we’re telling on stage and our lives outside the show."
