When it comes to the greatest player in NBA history people are generally divided into two camps—"His Airness” Michael Jordan or “The King,” LeBron James.
And now we know which side President Donald Trump is on, team Michael.
It all started when, days earlier in an interview with CNN's Don Lemon, the Los Angeles Lakers star had this to say about King had this to say about the President:
"Sports has never been something that divides people. It's always been something that brings someone together."
Which led to Trump’s tweet trolling James Friday night:
LeBron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!
But it seems even Jordan is on team LeBron in this debate as the Charlotte Hornets actually issued a statement on Saturday backing James.
"I support LJ. He's doing an amazing job for his community."
And apparently so does someone else—the First Lady, Melania Trump—who issued this statement Saturday through her spokesperson:
"It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation, and just as she always has, the First Lady encourages everyone to have an open dialogue about issues facing children today."
Maybe athletes wouldn’t have to keep having this open dialogue on sports if, Trump would just keep his mouth shut about sports.
