Well, it’s finally here.
The Cleveland Browns debut on the HBO series “Hard Knocks,” which premiered last night.
But if you think everyone in Cleveland will be watching, guess again.
Because I can assure you of two Clevelanders who will not be—the team’s top two QB’s—Baker Mayfield and Tyrod Taylor—as the two confided yesterday they won’t be watching.
“I mean I don’t really watch much TV,” Taylor offers. “I’ve never seen Hard Knocks. It’s an opportunity for us to showcase our team, but I’m here to win football games. That’s what I’m here to do.”
Meanwhile, his understudy, Number 1 overall draft pick, Mayfield is so locked in right now that he admits he didn’t even realize “Hard Knocks” was debuting tonight.
He also said he won’t tape it and that “I’ll be in bed” by the time it airs at 10pm ET.
Good, I’m guessing he has enough tape to keep him busy til the start of the season, let alone the before the teams preseason opener tomorrow night when Mayfield will face the Number 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley and the Giants.
Incidentally, that game that will be televised on the NFL Network Thursday night—giving Mayfield and Taylor plenty of other tape to watch all week.
