Just read this article about breaking gender stereotypes by Katie Alicea. Such an important topic and something I believe in so strongly. I hope Issac wore the crown and his WW backpack proudly to school. 🙅🏻♀️#WonderBoy pic.twitter.com/sCbfprbG5y— Gal Gadot (@GalGadot) August 7, 2018
Gal Gadot became a girl power symbol after starring in “Wonder Woman,” so it’s no question that she’s all for defeating gender stereotypes. The actress is applauding a boy from Florida who chose a Wonder Woman backpack and crown to wear for his first day of kindergarten.
Gadot has taken to Twitter to share an article written by Katie Alicea, the mother of five-year-old Isaac, that discussed her support of his choice to wear the “girly” backpack. “Such an important topic and something I believe in so strongly,” Gadot writes. “I hope Isaac wore the crown and his WW backpack proudly to school #WonderBoy.”
Alicea’s article explains that she felt worried at first after he son chose the backpack and crown, fearful that he would be teased at school. She concludes that her worries will only transfer to her son, writing, “Isaac is a world-changer and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the coolest kid I know.” Good for Isaac — and Mom!
