After taking time away from the team, Josh Gordon took to social media to announce that he's returning to the Browns.
On July 23rd, Gordon announced he would be taking a leave of absence from the team saying he wanted to stay on a positive path as he continues to deal with addiction and mental health issues.
Browns General Manager John Dorsey said:
“First off, we are pleased for Josh. His overall health and well-being is what is most important. We commend Josh for his hard work, commitment and focus on becoming the best version of himself."
“We are glad Josh has reached a point where he can return to our organization, be in our building and be around his teammates. As he assimilates back to our team, Josh will initially participate in meetings and conditioning and will gradually resume all football activities as deemed appropriate.”
When Gordon returned to the Browns last season following a suspension, he caught 18 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown.
The Browns next preseason game is Thursday, August 23rd against the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
