Tiger And Mickelson Set Nov. 23 Date For $9M Match-Play Event

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson made the PGA matchup of the century official when they ach took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to announce their much-discussed winner-take-all match.

Tiger got the golf ball rolling when he tweeted a picture announcing the matchup with the caption

It’s on @PhilMickelson #TigerVSPhil

To which Phil replied:

I bet you think this is the easiest $9M you will ever make

Mickelson said the format would be match play, and details are being worked out to allow for various challenges during the match (such as longest drive, closest to the hole, longest putt and closest out of a bunker).

And talk about the perfect timing—the date will be the Friday after Thanksgiving on November 23rd at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Vegas.

Can’t think of a better way to relax with leftovers while everyone else is out shopping.

Well, so long as you have the coin as it’ll be a Pay-Per-View event.

Of course, if you want a little excitement as well, the Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas has Woods at -180 to win the event outright, with Mickelson at +150.
