posted by Cap'n Tony | @RadioOnTheTony -

The winning names are being announced by the Akron Zoo for the brand new penguin chick and Siberian musk deer.

The Zoo held an online contest to name the babies with Rico being chosen for the penguin and Alina for the fawn.

Rico is a Spanish name meaning brave ruler and Alina is from the Russian language and translates to beautiful.

Both infant animals can now be viewed by the public in their respective habitats.

The results are in from our "Oh Deer! Waddle We Name Them?" naming contest, sponsored by @akronchildrens. The winners are: Rico, meaning brave ruler, for our male Humboldt penguin chick, and Alina, meaning beautiful, for our female musk deer fawn! Both babies are now on exhibit daily! Come see them!
