Buckeyes Open Big Ten Football Season Against Rutgers Tomorrow

posted by Cap'n Tony | @RadioOnTheTony -

Ohio State football will hold its final practice today before a Big Ten matchup against Rutgers.

Tomorrow's game will be only the fifth-ever meeting between the two schools, all of which have come since Rutgers joined the conference in 2004.

The Buckeyes are undefeated against the Scarlet Knights with back-to-back shutouts.

Current OSU defensive coordinator Greg Schiano was the head coach at Rutgers from 2001 to 2011.

Rutgers will be without one of its best players tomorrow against the Buckeyes.

Cornerback Blessuan Austin was ruled out yesterday by head coach Chris Ash due to a knee injury.

Austin missed most of 2017 with a torn ACL.

He recorded two tackles for loss and an interception before the injury in last week's game.

True freshman cornerback Avery Young will start instead.
