The debut of Number 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley had its up and downs Sunday, but the biggest up was well worth waiting for as Barkley rumbled for a 68-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter of to pull the Giants to within 20-15 of the Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday.
Unfortunately, they would get no closer as the Jags shut down the G-men the rest of the way as that would hold up for the final score.
Still, Barkley’s TD came with the Giants in desperate need of a big play and he gave them just that as he eludes three would-be tacklers and broke free down the right sideline for his first career touchdown.
Watch this electrifying play that—even Jaguars linebacker Myles Jackadmitted he was "shook out of his socks"on the play before Barkley outran free safety Tashaun Gipson Sr.to the sideline.
Oh yeah, and it was Barkley's first career run for over 10-yards and also put Barkley over 100 yards rushing in his NFL debut.
The future is bright for this young man.
If only the rest of his Giants can follow suit.
