NHL Commissioner Talks Possible Outdoor NHL Game in Columbus

posted by Cap'n Tony | @RadioOnTheTony -

Columbus is being discussed as a possible spot for an outdoor game during the NHL regular season.

Commissioner Gary Bettman says the league has held internal talks about the Blue Jackets hosting an outdoor game in the near future.

Bettman mentioned Ohio Stadium as a possible location, but says officials would need to do a site survey.

The NHL has staged 30 outdoor games since 2003, with four of them at college football stadiums in Annapolis, South Bend, Ann Arbor, and Minneapolis.
