Looks like the newest member of the Washington Wizards, Dwight Howard, may have hurt a part of his body he will be using a lot.
Well assuming the Wizards realize he’s only valuable at this point coming off the bench.
In any case, Howard has apparently been missing time during the preseason due to a back injury and now he has received a diagnosis for it.
According to The Athletic, Howard visited a specialist who diagnosed the center with a piriformis injury, which is a muscle in his buttocks.
The good news is the injury is not considered to be serious.
Howard had been sitting out time in camp and even received an injection for what he thought was a back injury. The 32-year-old center signed with Washington after being bought out by the Nets following their acquisition of him in a trade with the Hornets.
Howard will be playing for his third team in three seasons and is looking to prove he can still be an effective player in today’s NBA. He got in even better shape this offseason and has been working on his long-range shooting to show more versatility.
