Looks like the Steelers suffered a second crushing loss in as many days because just one day after blowing a 23-7 halftime lead in a 33-30 loss to the Chargers, they lost their star running back.
For at least a week.
Head coach Mike Tomlin made the announcement yesterday, ruling stud second-year running back James Conner out of the game with a sprained ankle.
Conner exited Monday night’s loss to the Chargers with what was initially called a lower-leg contusion. Obviously, it’s a bit more serious than that. There is, however, a positive here. This doesn’t seem to be a high-ankle sprain. Those types of injuries are typically multi-week issues.
And, in even better news, they are facing the Oakland Raiders who are in the business of losing this season.
Will they miss Conner’s 1,376 total yards and 13 touchdowns?
But the offense won’t miss a beat against the Raiders.
