Looks like Mario Batali won’t face criminal charges after being accused of sexual assault by two different women. To review, one woman claimed he raped her at one of his restaurants in January 2004, and the other woman said he sexually assaulted her at the Spotted Pig in 2005.
New York Police Department investigators wouldn’t refer their cases for criminal prosecution when the women couldn’t recall information to support their accusations. Additionally, there were no corroborating witnesses.
For the record, the celebrity chef admitted to engaging in “deeply inappropriate” behavior. However, he strongly denies all allegations of sexual assault.
