#MentalHealth: Take a WEEK away from Social Media to FIX YOURSELF!

You won't do it. But you should probably take a social media break. Just saying.

A new study from the “University of Bath” studied how a week-long break from social media effected adults aged 18 to 72 and the results may surprise you (or they may not!). It led to significant improvements in mental wellbeing and even showed a decrease in both depression and anxiety.

The wellbeing of the participants jumped from an average of 46 to 55.93 on “The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale.” Depression levels dropped from 7.46 to 4.84 and anxiety levels dropped from 6.92 to 5.94.

Lead researched Dr. Jeff Lambert also added that “Many of our participants reported positive effects from being off social media with improved mood and less anxiety overall. This suggests that even just a small break can have an impact.”
