Massmu Island Party @ The Massillon Museum

The Massillon Museum’s annual Island Party is a FREE event and includes its traditional pig roast on the museum’s lawn by volunteers. A Caribbean supper of pork sandwiches, jerk chicken, hot dogs, fruit skewers, and chips will be offered for sale. The cash bar will offer beer (including Jamaican Red Stripe), frozen island drinks, wine, water, soft drinks, and juice. Purchase of food and drink with either cash or credit.

The Massillon Museum's annual Island Party is in its 25th year! The annual Island Party is MassMu’s way to say “Thank You” to the Massillon Community for their continued support. This family friendly party begins with its traditional pig roast on the front lawn of the museum. A Caribbean supper of pork sandwiches, jerk chicken, hot dogs, fruit skewers, and chips will be offered for sale. The cash bar will offer beer (including Jamaican Red Stripe), frozen island drinks, wine, water, soft drinks, and juice. Cash or credit are accepted for food and drink purchases. Leis, flower clips, and this year’s Island Party t-shirts will also be available for purchase. If you purchase a new membership ($25 and up, cash, check or credit) you will receive a FREE Island Party t-shirt! Bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Dance the night away under the stars to reggae music. Back by popular demand, Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band will be performing throughout the evening with a special performance by the Jackson High School Steel Drum Band at 8:15pm. Entry to the event is Free! 

Also enjoy limbo, hula hoops, crafts and bubbles in MassMu education area! The MassMu Aultman Health Foundation Gallery exhibit,A Heritage of Harvest, including the new Paul E. Brown Museum, will remain open until 8:00pm. Admission to the Massillon Museum is always free to the public.

The Massillon Museum will offer eco-friendly solutions for water! Our reusable water bottles will be for sale, and water stations will be set up throughout the party area. No outside food or beverages may be brought into the party. This party is Tobacco-free.

PARKING:

Free parking will be available in the municipal parking lots, the parking deck on South Erie Street, and on adjacent streets.

LOCATION & LOGISTICS:

Enter the party at First Street near Lincoln Way East (in front of the Museum) or at First Street and Charles Street (near the monument). First Street SE will be barricaded to regulate traffic. Should you need to drop off handicapped persons, please pull up to the corner of Tremont and First Street SE and a staff member will let you through to the main entrance.
