Grandmother Sets World Record With 42-Foot-Long Fingernails

It’s a world record that took 25 years to set. Diana Armstrong now owns the Guinness World Record for the “longest fingernails on a pair of hands (female)” and the “longest fingernails on a pair of hands ever (female)” record as well. Both of the 63-year-old’s hands have a combined nail length of 42 feet, 10.4 inches.

Her right thumb has the longest individual nails, measuring four feet 6.7 inches; her shortest nail is on her left pinky, measuring only three feet, seven inches long. She stopped trimming her nails after the death of her 16-year-old daughter, who was the one who manicured her mom’s nails. After her death in her sleep from an asthma attack, Diana vowed to never cut them again.
