Santa Monica Traffic Lights Play Classical Music To Deter Crime

The Santa Monica, California Police Department is apologizing for blasting classical music in an intersection.

Last week, in an effort to deter crime, police installed traffic signals that play classical music.

But, people who live nearby complained, saying the music was too loud and made it tough to sleep.

Police blame a software glitch that they say reset the volume at the highest possible level.

The music is now turned off.
