Taco John's Gives Up The Trademark On "Taco Tuesday"

Tuesdays are available for tacos for everyone now.

Taco John’s CEO Jim Creel dropped the trademark fight against Taco Bell last night over the phrase “Taco Tuesday,” saying that “paying millions of dollars to lawyers to defend our mark just doesn’t feel like the right thing to do.”

The company trademarked the term in 1989, and Creel told the Wall Street Journal, “We will still have Taco Tuesday, and others will have Taco Tuesday as well.”
