Prince Harry's Phone-Hacking Case Thrown Out By Judge

Prince Harry's phone hacking claims against “The Sun” were dismissed by MR Justice Fancourt, a judge of the English High Court. Fancourt cited that Harry's case didn't meet the "necessary threshold of plausibility and cogency".

Harry's suggestion of a “secret agreement” between Buckingham Palace and the press was also rejected by the judge, stating it was "not plausible". Despite this setback, the High Court is letting Harry sue “The Sun” for other alleged illegal activities, with a trial scheduled for January.

The judge clarified that Harry had exceeded the six-year legal limit to start action upon learning about the alleged hacking, which he knew about by September 2013, making his 2019 claim too late. "The Sun" publisher News Group Newspapers applauded the ruling as “a significant victory.”
